Thank you, Elliot. Perhaps it is just my own life that is different, but I do remember much more singing when I was a child. We sang in the car (my father was the source of endless delightful silly songs) and we sang after the supper dishes were washed, sitting together on the back porch. How I loved this! My Grandmother would request her favorite songs (many of them of an earlier era) and my Grandfather, who had perfect pitch, would close his eyes, give the pitch, and then harmonize to the rest of our voices. Wow! Such happiness. As a child, I would wish for the day to never end.

Thank you so much for this, as a lover of the Muppets and Singin’ In the Rain❤️ It was definitely needed, after these past few long, dark weeks ❤️

Such a wonderful memory ! The Muppets were a constant source of amazement and education for very young children to adults. An entire generation of children sat in front of TVS and learned what it could be like to function in a community. It made a big difference and was worthy of all the awards heaped on it.

I know you posted this early this morning, but I just read it now. After the stunning gut punch of Biden’s announcement, this little bit of joy was much needed, so thank you. (And don’t get me wrong, I also fully endorse Harris, I have faith that she can and will do the job exceptionally well. It was just a shock to the system as I was all in for Biden no matter what.)

……. and here in the UK we will always associate this movie scene with the wonderful Eric Morecambe take on it in his legendary BBC produced ‘Morecambe and Wise’ show.

Oh, this was a little bit of joy! For so many reasons...the Muppets (duh) Gene Kelly (sigh) and it reminded me that I have a copy of Singing in the Rain when my daughter played Lina Lamont. (What's wrong with my voice!) Finding that video will also bring me joy.

I’m old enough to remember this from Original, when it was broadcast. I REALLY wanted him to sing Singin’ in the Rain, and he kept not doing it but singing other things. It wasn’t till the skit was over that I realized how wonderful it really was. I love Gene Kelly <3
