That's the theme from now to November and beyond. Enough of the labeling, purity tests and blame game by the Democratic elites, consultants and pollsters. When most Americans pay their fair share of taxes and see Trump literally stealing from us and his greedy corporate buddies also stealing and not paying taxes, enough already !! Vote them all out!!!

Real revolution is needed. Or call it evolution so people don't panic. The democrats we have haven't been able to do much at all. As you say, all the while Trump is sealing and destroying us.

The rot in the American body politic is now so bad that it is blatant and obvious. All three pillars of American democracy are tainted. The legislative majority in both houses consistently bends to the whims of a doddering dotard who starts wars to distract Americans from the Epstein files. The People deserve days in court after this nightmare, where the perpetrators and enablers of this vicious regime are held accountable.

Sad to say Elliott, but it doesn’t appear that they are really sick of him or worried about their pocketbooks or anything else. Apparently He can do no wrong. Voters defeated all of the Republicans who stood up to him. Yesterday was an absolute disaster at the polls.

Elliot Kirschner's avatar

I understand what you are saying. I think it’s important to focus on the fact that it was Republican primary voters who defeated the Republicans who stood up to him. It will be interesting to see what happens when the rest of the American public has the opportunity to pass judgment.

Michael G's avatar

And those Republican primary voters have been a thin slice of the electorate. I haven’t seen any voter turnout numbers from yesterday’s primaries, but the one earlier in Indiana, where the majority of the Republican State Senators that voted against the redistricting maps were defeated, the Republican turnout was very low and predominantly tRump loving MAGA voters. The important takeaway is these Republican primaries are being decided by the hardcore tRump voters and not the larger party as a whole.

William M's avatar

The question is, why don't other Republicans come out and vote in the primary? Are they simply too depressed?

Mañana's avatar

Agreed, but it's still dispiriting to witness.

If our fellow Americans are still blind to the vile criminal occupying our White House, the utter daily corruption he is not even trying to hide, and the Repups keep the House and Senate in the 2026 election cycle, my wife and I will likely move to our northern neighbors, where the leadership (Mark Carney et al) appears to actually care about and focus on the common wellbeing. The repubs are no longer committed to America and our constitution. They are glued to the trump criminal and whatever he wants. The "Repugnant" party is a diseased and near-death group of sycophants cowtowing to the worst POTUS in our 250 year history. Let's celebrate our 250th by kicking these people to the garbage heap in a massive drubbing in November, 2026.

Dennis Dunn's avatar

This is what happens when trump fired all the white house ethic people. Never forget The Trumpstein File. Accountability is in November, Vote Blue . Everybody get out and vote, vote vote BLUE, don't sit this one out get out and Vote

To save our democracy, we need a total purge of Senate Republicans. They can't gerrymander the Senate.

In the elections in 2026, 2028, and 2030, we need throw out all the Republicans in the Senate.

The Senate GOP confirmed the current Supreme Court justices that gave Trump immunity, struck down Dobbs, approved racial gerrymanders, and countless other wrongs against our democracy. The Senate Republicans confirmed Bondi, Noem, RFK, Jr., Emil Bove, and the rest of the corrupt cabinet. They passed Trump's budget bills. They did not use the power they have to do anything to stop the immigration enforcement (ICE, Border Patrol, etc .) that are terrorizing and killing Americans and others. They did nothing to stop the wars.

When a branch is infected with disease, you cut it off to save the tree. Purging the Republicans is saving our democracy. It's self defense.

Diane Courneyeur's avatar

After speaking about all the corruption, you missed the DOJ Bondi style protecting the “Donny from the Epstein files, the most disgusting corruption of all time!!

Elliot Kirschner's avatar

Sadly, that is true. The list goes on and on. From the ball room to the new Air Force One. But yest, the corruption with the Epstein Files is particularly grotesque because of the hundreds of victims. I guess I think there could be a way for there to be some accountability there. He's obviously terrified by what's in there.

Vickie Berry's avatar

I think Massie is going to bring some fire to this in his last 7 months. He has lots of ammo from the files and the committee’s shadow hearings. Bring it on!

We can afford the corruption -- it's the huge cost of wars and weapons that we can't afford. We've spend several $trillion fighting Netanyahu's wars from Iraq in 2003 to Iran in 2026. That's why we lack healthcare.

Elliot Kirschner's avatar

I think the wars are also, sadly, part of the corruption.

Kevin Cahill's avatar

Does Trump obey Bibi because he's paid to or because he's forced to? We need to know that. Is it publicly known?

Ben Barclay's avatar

Trump is stupid, and he is easy to manipulate, as Netanyahu and Putin will attest. But there are other factors at play, that stretch a long way back in time. There is a lot of money betting against anyone who crosses the State of Israel. A lot of money and power.

Kevin Cahill's avatar

Yes, but we need to know more: For example, would Trump face impeachment if he crossed Netanyahu?

Ben Barclay's avatar

I don't believe a Republican House and Senate will impeach Trump. I don't see impeachment as any real kind of solution to anything. I don't believe Trump will ever "cross" Netanyahu, or Putin. I don't believe there are transparency or accountability in politics.

As a child, I internalised domestic violence as somehow "my fault". People who study these things say children often do this because it is better than believing that you are helpless in the power of your parent (s), who are not healthy to be around.

I think we are in the same boat here. We have absolutely no agency to change or remove Trump, or affect his behaviour in any way. But I always say - "don't get mad, get even". I hope everyone who reads this thread campaigns door to door for 2 hours every night until the mid terms.

Peace and love.

Ben Barclay's avatar

No, you cannot "afford the corruption". You can't even afford to keep the lights on. You have mortgaged your great grandchildren's future, and they will never be able to pay it back.

You are 45 trillion in debt.

Kevin Cahill's avatar

Trump's corruption is in the $billions. Our wars and weapons cost $trillions. A factor of one thousand.

Joan Grabe's avatar

Way to go, Elliot ! Throw those bums out !! But how ? Even if we prevail at the ballot box in November and gain a Congressional majority and some governorships how do we know what protections the Trumps, Todd Blanch, the DOJ, SCOTUS and other Trump toadies have planned in anticipation ? This slush fund is indeed a new low but that crew seems to be able to surpass themselves daily in veniality.

Michael R Etten's avatar

Yes, yes, yes - time to throw the bums out! Corruption is at a zenith and has got to end. NOW!!!

Radical Left Lunatic's avatar

Hear, hear!!! Well said sir. Is this what MAGA voted for?

Lark Leonard's avatar

Indeed....throw the bums out! ASAP. The corruption is sickening, absolutely sickening.

In the words of Luke Skywalker. “I have a really bad feeling about this…”

Brilliant, Elliot. That famous Carville should have been a warning, never the bumper sticker that became core to the campaign strategies. It should have been a call to the fact that the voting population was being dumbed down and our politicians and their strategies would drive the reading levels (so to speak) even lower. The belief that there was a simple idea behind voter's choices, whether this bumper sticker or some demographic that accounts for the variation between parties or the singular makeup of a voting block got us into this campaign mess, for which we are now rewarded with dysfunction in SCOTUS, the administration, and perhaps, the more evident levels of corruption and fraud now being banntered as the fatal flaw to press on about in the upcoming campaigns. I agree with your point that no solution or challenge to courts or Congressional traditions should off the table for the Democrat party effort to turn the country back towar the aspirations Heather Cox Richardson reminds us we're put into place in 1964 with Johnson's address (probably would have been quite similar had Kennedy been alive to make his address) at University of Michigan commencement.

Once again, clear, clean, concise, and passionate. Well done Elliot!
