Trump is just a total embarrassment to America and a disgrace to the human race.

In my generation (born in the 1950’s), it was “Well, duh!”

50’s kid here…. Yes!

Or, as we used to say in our locale at that time, just a long, drawn-out "duuuuh," with a vacant look on yout face, mouth hanging open, as if we lacked adequate brain cells, but were at least smart enough to know a basic obvious fact.

Who ever thought we'd be saying this as adults about our own government or president? Incomprehensible, isn't it? 🥺

Oh my gosh, I don’t know if a column like this helps the world or not. But it damn well helps my brain! It’s like I just chugged a big glass of coherence and it makes me feel great! Thank you again, Elliot!

The real "no duh" problem is beyond trump - no duh personified, It's the freakin sycophant clowns in the clown car and the Repugnant sycophant clowens in OUR congress. Never again! Never, ever again. Plus the fools (yes - no apologies) who voted for these duds knowing full well that trumps is a convicted felon, sexual assaulter, rapist, racist buffoon. Fools all! Jail is the next and final stop. See ALL Epstein files.

Sorry, but I must fault the Dems for running a weak candidate like Harris, and before that Hilary even admitted she lost due to poor campaign choices which left her with the larger popular vote but smaller electoral college numbers.

Even an aged and vacillating Joe Biden was able to soundly beat Trump.

The truth is the Dems gave Trump his platform twice. Will they allow him to have a third term?

Come out swinging, Elliott, I love it ! I used to try and reason with people who posted on Substack. Tried to be moderate and understanding but no more. Go for the jugular is more satisfying. My new mantra is that I’ll be nicer if they’ll be smarter. Trump may have up ended my nice little world but I’ll be damned if I can’t help right it again.

Since you mentioned Bezos production of Melania's propaganda doc, we can also blame him for her recent utterance at the mic that she's a "Visionary". No! Duhhhh.

JOHN BERRY's avatar

Bezos identifying visionaries is a bad joke since he has more to stifle creativity and innovation, while destroying community, than any other person alive!

Melania is in the "epsteins". That's not in the news.

Melania will get her come-uppance, as will all who rely on physical appearance for making way in the world. She will experience menopause (if she hasn't already), and normal aging will change her appearance drastically. The only way out is massive plastic surgery or early death, neither outcomes I would wish on her or anyone.

Trump is probably too decrepit from age to trade Melania off for someone younger, so I think her marriage, such as it is, will outlast Trump's lifetime.

My generation it was simply, "Duh!" and often elongated. :D

"Well, du-uh. . ." . . right?

Lol! Yes. :D

Right two syllables du-uh.

How long do you think the public will remember this time? It took Democrats only 4 years, and they turned out 5 million less voters in 2024 than 2020. Those 5 million would have given us a president with experience, judgement and a heart for minorities, women and immigrants. Now we have a nightmare as reality. Will that translate into enough voters at the polls to throw the enabling bastards out? I have my doubts....

Harris was a weak candidate for several reasons which I won't go into here except to say she had neither the quick wit, the gravitas, or the depth of intelligence that might have overcome her becoming the Dem's second female loser in three Presidential elections.

My fear is the Dems have not developed any candidates that look or act like Presidential material. Who will they run in 28?

Just Sayin''s avatar

She was and is qualified to occupy the office, unlike the current occupant.

In a midterm year, the (hopefully) lame-duck president starts a war that he struggles to explain, setting on regime change one day, and total surrender the next. The 'no duh' for me here is don't go to war when a huge majority of Americans do not support it. Maps used to guide precision missiles were out of date and a girls' school was hit, with mass fatalities resulting. A war crime.

This is what happens when ideology, ahem, trumps rationality.

One of my free sample recipients sent me a copy of the Duh article and thanked me for sending you her way. I think it's great too.

Thank you Dolores for your support. I try to mix it up. And I'm glad you liked it.

Duh. It’s not a very sharp group of players.

Well, duh. I guess we do have to state the obvious.
