P.S. Check out this list of elders who were and are shining examples of the agelessness of brilliance, wit, perseverance, and accomplishment. I’m so proud of Biden right now that I could just pop. Good on him for taking all this BS in such a dignified manner.
Was Hur attempting honesty? So why did he place on page 7 summation that Pres Biden wouldn’t be charged. So he put a 400 page hubris brief... and Garland sighed off... what this looks like tells me some other story altogether...
Don’t we all or should we all evaluate when it’s time to step down?
However I BELIEVE once anyone is past age of 50; ones relevance and contribution to community/ society always falls into question.
Unless you are / were someone of great importance; if you were regarded as intelligent, somehow reached a height of achievement, scholarly, got the nobel prize, out achieved the one at the top(In the USA we do not value the elderly)( even when they have lived 8 decades, know things we don’t?)
I get it we see ourselves aging... but g- whiz let’s learn from this
l agree with Elliot Kirschner.Joe Biden is steady and dependable. He did what he said he’d do for the economy and he’s still doing it. Plus he’s a superb negotiator. He isn’t getting the credit he deserves for restoring NATO’s strength and building support for Ukraine. Age is not a disability.

Watch this and tell me u don’t feel the same way their break down of Hurs’ report.
He could have evaluated Pres Biden and stopped there as Hurs report was not about memory, maybe in 1 instance ti remembering docs . But evaluating memory for the presidency or asking questions about his son?( Hurs hubris, and extensive play; sounded like a grudge in my opinion. )
I so miss what I construed as measured and mostly unbiased reporting of years past. All the buying and selling of POV makes me so weary. I’ve never felt parties work very well, and don’t see a single reason why I can’t declare zero party preference and vote freely. The stench is nauseating.
The one point that doesn't seem to be made is that the president doesn't do his job in a vacuum. He surrounds himself (herself) with a cadre of support people. If the choice is between Biden and the orange scourge, there is no choice. If the choice is anyone else viable, I'm choosing Biden's team. He hasn't made perfect choices, but his team have done a better job than any since Obama's team.
I heard an interesting conspiracy theory the other day that I kind of like. In May, President Biden finally admits that he just is not up to the task for four more years, drops out of the race, and endorses Michelle Obama.
As anyone who has read both 'Becoming' and 'A Promised Land' knows, she is not only brilliant but has already made wonderful contributions to our society and Republic.
Added to that, she would bring back the Black vote, and, coupled with women’s rights, abortion rights, the Millennials, and the Gen Z’s (who are looking for someone, anyone, even close to their age group to take over), return the political dialogue in this country to one of collaboration instead of polarization.
I am not sure who said it, but I could not agree more:
“No words of praise are good enough. Other than possibly Eleanor Roosevelt, I cannot think of another first lady who handled the job with more wit, wisdom, honesty, and compassion than Michelle Obama.”
Great article and on point. Republican MAGA jump on Biden’s speech ignoring that he has a known stutter disability, while completely accepting their role model disgustingly and publicly mocking people with disabilities. Trump is a mob boss, a thug, and a bully. I’m worried about our future reflecting on the impact on our children who are learning by his example. We’ve done so much in schools to try to reverse bullying mentality while this clown embraces it. Our press could do more to remind the public that disability shaming is unacceptable. C’mon, we can do better.
Biden can speak in complete sentences. Certain other people are too chicken to show up to debates because without a large-print, single-syllable teleprompter, they (he) can barely utter a single intelligible word.
Great article as always ..and comments . I am sick of all the negativity concerning President Biden- as all have comments just look at his record, look at his daily days , physically he is probably in better shape than a large portion ( unfortunately) of our younger nation ! Why oh why does this county not embrace and honor the “ elders “- their experience , their wisdom and achievements… their is no comparison between Trump and Biden - it’s apples and dried up prunes … Check out Trumps long history of bullying, manipulation and abuse . Read on what he did to Vera Coakly , that should be in the media. The guys a criminal and an embarrassment to our county. I just can’t wrap my head around the MAGA dimwits …
Good points, by you Elliott. Biden is in the job now and indeed that is what voters and the press should look at when deciding upon a candidate. One thing is for certain….with Biden we will get a team. The Presudency is a big, touch job. The great presidents have always been the ones that have great staff members that are consulted and included in decision making. Having good people around you is a large part of doing well. With Trump there are no good people around him, and even if there were, he wouldn’t use them. Let’s not forget that Trump thought he was in Sioux Falls,SDwhen he was in Sioux City, IA. And as for running up a flight of stairs, the fat orange guy wouldn’t make it to the third step. And as for running 100 yards, Elliott, I will close with “Go Niners”.
President Bident has the professionalism, knowledge, refinement, etc. to lead our country. He is the better candidate.
President Biden knows what he is doing. Trust his judgement. You won't be sorry.
President Biden definitely has what it takes to do the job.
Don't you think President Biden knowa himself best?
Experience, knowledge, honesty, integrity, and compassion.
There is no one who is less equipped to be president than DJT, and I mean NO ONE.
And McConnell? Where is the media calling to mind his recent blank-outs?

Oh good grief…my soon to be 80-year-old brain had a blip and forgot the link. Here it is. I hope. 😉

She would crush Trump in a landslide!
